Victorian Wedding Inspiration at Carolina Country Weddings, North Carolina

I have to express how happy and grateful I am that the vision for this beautifully planned shoot came to life! Some amazing talent came together to pull off my first official styled wedding shoot, and I love all of these stunning details we were able to produce this Summer. My goal was to showcase timeless wedding looks with tons of vintage flair along a beautiful Carolina countryside backdrop. In the prettiest palette of blues and golden yellow, this Victorian inspired wedding editorial was perfect! It’s a romantic ‘ode to old world charm’ and is proudly featured on Chic Vintage Brides and I Do Y’all wedding blog!

This styled shoot stemmed from my love of the Biltmore House, the Titanic movie, my fascination for blue and white home decor, and my love for antique stores 🙂 The wedding inspiration here contains vintage elegance, timeless antiques, and a bit of a British Royals/romance novel vibe. My terrific team of vendors was wonderful to work with, and I will without a doubt recommend each one of them to all the brides I know. Be sure to check out their links I’ve listed below!

I was definitely watching the tv shows, ‘Downton Abbey’ + ‘The Crown’, and listening to Billie Holiday and some oldies while planning this shoot. It’s awesome how music can influence mood, colors, and creativity when it comes to styling. A big thank you to my models who were sensational! The main bride and groom from this styled wedding day are a currently engaged couple from South Carolina. They were loads of fun, and they both got inspired and more excited for their upcoming big day. We couldn’t have had a better day for shooting as we were blessed with a most peaceful, cool summer breeze.

Collaborating with these talented chosen wedding vendors was effortless. As I asked each one, we were equally excited about the vision, and I couldn’t be happier with what each contributed. In fact, before I started reaching out, Heather with The Whimsical Rose messaged me first during the exact week that I started physically planning this thing. Perfect timing — God is Awesome. Her vintage china and tea cups from the UK are so lovely, and she has the most delightful, pleasant personality – and I love her British accent! Of course, Rachel with Fleur-Di-Re created another showstopper bouquet – nothing less than beautiful. Garden roses, peonies, white anemones with blue centers, eucalyptus, and other floral beauties never looked so good together in a cascading bouquet. Meagan Kelly Designs pulled off two stylish lace dresses, and our brides rocked these pictures. I love all things lace, and I thought the sleeves were so unique. Danyell with Glammed and Groomed did distinctive wedding day hair and make up looks that matched the style. The blue and white floral groom tie from Beautiful Idiot Clothing was one of a kind! I love the three different, borrowed hats that I swiped from my husband’s side of the closet that made the groom’s outfit fantastic. Our groom was quite stylish wearing it all with the paired suspenders. The wedding invitation suite from Ink Sugar Co. went nicely with the theme, and now I want to order more of her delicate ribbon! We also had incredible desserts. Christy with p26kookies created one of a kind heart cookies and even dusted a few with edible glitter. She can literally create any kind of object you like and turn it into a cookie! Elle with her awesome new bakery, Baked Well NC, made a great cake featuring different ‘painterly’ shades of sky blue to compliment our color scheme. I absolutely love the way the cake was adorned with fresh blueberries! I couldn’t imagine this wedding shoot taking place anywhere else than Carolina Country Weddings. The peaceful, scenic backdrop was truly special. It’s picturesque with a variety of places to hold a ceremony. We got to use rare antiques, including our round table that was actually found at a garage sale. So, future brides– embrace your inner DIY and thrift store finding powers! We had a countryside ceremony under the abundance of shade trees with a white decorated mantle piece as an altar area. Beyond the shaded pathway and ceremony area was the surrounding open field of wheat and blue sky as far as the eye could see. This is an extraordinary venue that made my South Carolina heart happy. It’s as if we successfully brought the backdrop of a Jane Austen and Emily Bronte novel to life. Rolling hills of open pasture with a constant breeze and golden sunlight made for pure bliss.

It was fun shooting with my sister here, and I have to give a shout out to my mom and aunt for decorating our lovely floral swing. As always, I’m forever grateful for my husband’s unending, huge support and co-labor to tackle on my artistic endeavors. This shoot was lovelier than I imagined. The chance to be creative and work with amazing local vendors was incredible. Check out my first official styled wedding shoot!
